The UAC scholarship is offered through the Equity scholarship scheme. Thus, to know more about this scholarship, however, you need to understand the Equity scholarship scheme. Hence, the UAC scholarship aims at providing financial support for students.

Understanding UAC Scholarship/Equity Scholarships

Equity Scholarships are awarded to students from low socio-economic backgrounds. Also, they are awarded to those who receive Centrelink income support payments.

And some of these payments are Abstudy, Austudy and Youth Allowance. Additionally, Equity Scholarships help disadvantaged students with general costs. These are costs associated with tertiary study.

However, to apply for an Equity through UAC, note. You must already be enrolled at, or have applied for admission in 2022–23 to, one or more of our participating institutions.

However, there are two types of Equity scholarships. They are:

1. Institution Equity Scholarships

These are funded by individual institutions and their value. However, eligibility criteria and duration differ between institutions.

2. Indigenous Student Success Program

These are funded by the Australian Government.

However, to apply for any of the Equity scholarships, note. You must be enrolled at a participating institution. Or, you must be applying for admission:

➢ Through for undergraduate or postgraduate study. However, there is only a very limited number of equity scholarships open to international applicants.

➢ Directly to an institution.

➢ Through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). Also, or you apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

UAC Scholarship/Equity Scholarships Application Process

Below are some of the steps to completing your UAC scholarship/Equity Scholarships:

1. Read the . This will define eligibility for each disadvantage. Also, it will define the documents you must provide to support your application.

2. Also, complete all sections covering the disadvantages you are claiming.

3. Additionally, accept the declaration.

4. Furthermore, submit your application. And, also download your Confirmation of Application and document package.

5. Furthermore, upload documents to your application. However, this should be at least 10 days before the offer round date.

Also, all documents must be uploaded as PDFs to your application. Thus, no hardcopy documents will be accepted.

You can only submit one scholarship application during the 2022–23 admissions period. Also, your application remains ‘life’ throughout this period.

And you’ll be considered for all available Equity Scholarships for which you’re eligible.

After You Apply

If your circumstances change after you have submitted an ES application, note. Do not commence a new application within the same admissions period. Duplicate applications will be withdrawn.

Important Information about UAC Scholarship Eligibility

Meeting scholarship eligibility criteria doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be awarded a scholarship. There are more applicants than available scholarships.

However, as part of a competitive application process, you are ranked against the eligibility criteria. And some institutions award scholarships to applicants who best meet the eligibility criteria.

Thus, if you are unsuccessful it doesn’t mean that you’re not in need. Rather, it means that there are other applicants who’ve been assessed as being in greater need.

However, most Year 12 applicants receive their Equity Scholarship offers in these rounds.
