University of Ghana Masters Scholarships 2022 Application Update

University of Ghana Masters Scholarships is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the University of Ghana.

About the University of Ghana

The University of Ghana, the premier university and the largest university in Ghana was founded as the University College of the Gold Coast by Ordinance on August 11, 1948 for the purpose of providing and promoting university education, learning and research.

Funding for University of Ghana Masters Scholarships is from TDR, the UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases.

Only applicants from low- and middle-income countries of the WHO African Region are eligible to apply.

Benefits of University of Ghana Masters Scholarships

The scholarship covers:

1. One round-trip economy airfare between the student’s home country and Accra, Ghana;

2. Tuition and academic fees;

3. Basic medical and accident insurance;

4. A monthly stipend to cover living expenses, including accommodation equivalent to local living costs; and

5. Support for research project/thesis expenses during data collection.

Requirements for University of Ghana Masters Scholarships 

Applicants should:

1. Be resident in and nationals of a low- or middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank) in the WHO African Region;

2. Be under 35 years old at the time of application;

3. Meet the standard University of Ghana admission requirements for international or local graduate students (for postgraduate admission requirements at the University of Ghana, visit the how to apply to postgraduate programs page);

4. Be interested in developing a career in implementation research on infectious diseases of poverty;

5. Be proficient in English;

6. Provide evidence of ability to obtain study leave from employment (if applicable) before commencement of the program; and

7. Consent to meet health requirements in line with regulations of the Government of Ghana and the University of Ghana.
