UNU-CPR Global Fellowship Program 2022

UNU-CPR Global Fellows work to integrate researchers with underrepresented backgrounds into ongoing research projects that influence multilateral policymaking.

One 6-month Fellowship is available for candidates who are interested in Migration and Inequality.

A UNU-CPR Fellow will support ongoing research projects and work closely with a senior researcher from the Centre.

Fellows will have the chance to test and develop their research proposals with potential donors.

Responsibilities

  • Research work on delivery of research in Equitable Development and Migration (EDM Pillar), focusing in particular upon the relationships between migration and inequality and the delivery of SDGs within the context of Global South.
  • Assist in the delivery of background research on inequality and migration to support academic publications as well as policy reports.
  • EDM’s new Migration Policy Seminar Series, hybrid events held quarterly at New York and Geneva, as well as other events, can be supported by you.
  • Monitor the delivery of project outputs (reports and blogs, articles, and other related activities), including liaison with authors, researchers, and other organizations, as necessary.
  • Support the development of research proposals on topics relevant to the work of the Pillar, for example, environmental/climate migration, the Humanitarian Development Peace nexus, protracted displacement.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

UNU-CPR Global Fellowship Program: Aims and Benefits

  • The successful candidate will be kept under a consultant contract (CTC), as a Global Fellow-Migration and Inequality for six month. UNU consultants cannot provide services for longer than twenty-four (24) month periods.
  • A lump sum payment of $1,000 per month will be made, including all fees.

Qualifications for UNU-CPR Global Fellowship Program

  • A degree or postgraduate degree is required in the following fields: geography, development studies or law.
  • Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • You must have at least one year of relevant experience in the workplace.
  • It is necessary to be knowledgeable about issues related to migration and inequality
  • Experience in conducting literature reviews and background research
  • It is a plus to have experience in event organisation
  • You will need to have excellent communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • It is advantageous to have a working knowledge of another UN language.
