About UPSC Exam

Selected candidates will get admission to the 150th (DE) course at Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun,

Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala course, Air Force Academy (AFA) Hyderabad training course, 113th SSC Men NT in Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai, and 27th SSC Women NT in Officers Training Academy Chennai.

The final selection will be made in order of merit, subject to medical fitness and suitability in all other respects and the number of vacancies available. Candidates seeking to apply for IMA,

OTA courses should have graduation in any stream while for INA graduation in engineering is required. For AFA, candidates should be a graduate and study physics and maths in the 12th standard or possess B.E/B.Tech.

UPSC CDS 1 Exam 2022 Vacancy Details:

1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradun 150th (DE) Course commencing in January 2022 — 100 (including 13 vacancies reserved for NCC `C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders)

2. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Course commencing in January 2022 Executive (General Service)/Hydro — 45 (including 06 vacancies for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Naval Wing through NCC Special entry holders)

3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad—(Pre-Flying) Training Course beginning in January 2022 i.e. No. 209 F(P) Course – 32 (03 vacancies are reserved for NCC `C’ Certificate (Air Wing) holders through NCC Spl. Entry)

4. Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) — 113th SSC (Men) Course (NT) starting in April, 2022 – 225 [(i) 170 vacs for SSC (Men) (NT) UPSC, (ii) 05 vacs for JAG (Men) (NT) April, 2022 Non UPSC and (iii) 50 vacs for NCC Special entry Non UPSC]

5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai—27th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course beginning in April 2022 – 16

Educational/Technical Qualification & Experience

1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy – Degree from a recognised University or equivalent.

2. For Indian Naval Academy – Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.

3. For Air Force Academy – Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age Limit

1. For IMA—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than  2nd January 1997  and not later than 1st January 2002 only are eligible.

2. For Indian Naval Academy—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1997 and not later than 1st January 2002 only are eligible.

3. For Air Force Academy — 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2021 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January 1997 and not later than  1st January 2001

4. For Officers’ Training Academy — (SSC Course for men) unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2002 only are eligible.

5. For Officers’ Training Academy—(SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible.

They should have been born no earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2002.

The selection process will be done on the basis of:

Written Examination – Candidates who successfully fill the application will be called for the written exam.

Intelligence and Personality Test – Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written examination will be called for the intelligence and personality test at the Service Selection Board.

Q 1 – How are vacancies advertised?

Answer – Ministries/ Departments submit their proposal/requisition for recruitment containing information regarding the number of vacancies, reservation {including reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs)}, essential and desirable qualifications for the post, duties attached to the post, etc. to UPSC.
 
After due examination in the Commission, the vacancies are published for inviting Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) on the Website of the Commission as well as an Indicative Advertisement is also published in the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar.

Q 2 – How can I apply?

Answer – A candidate can apply for a post online only. The Website of the Commission, especially, for this purpose is – www.upsconline.nic.in

Q 3 – For how many posts can a candidate apply in one recruitment advertisement?

Answer – One Recruitment advertisement invites applications for several posts, and in special cases for a single post.
 
A Candidate who wishes to apply for over one post can do so by applying separately for each post and paying the fee for each post in the manner prescribed for that post. For example, if in an Advertisement, applications are invited for posts of:
(i) Stores Officer (ii) Administrative Officer and (iii) Public Prosecutor, a candidate intending to apply for two posts i.e. for Stores O
fficer and for Public Prosecutor, is required to submit separate applications and pay the fee for each of the two posts separately.

Q 4 – How can I know the status of my application submitted for a particular post?

Answer – The candidate should refer to UPSC’s official Website www.upsc.gov.in, where the lists of finally submitted Online applications (containing Name of the Post, Vacancy No., Roll No., Application No., and Name) corresponding to the related posts are displayed Advertisement number wise.
