UTS Humanitarian Scholarship 2022 Application Update

UTS Humanitarian Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the University of Technology Sydney.

About the Scholarship

In Sydney, Australia, there is a public institution called the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Although the university’s roots may be located in the 1870s, it was not created in its current form until 1988. It is a member of the university-based Australian Technology Network.

The UTS Humanitarian Scholarship was created to provide funding for undergraduate studies for students who arrived in Australia as asylum seekers and are now in possession of an Asylum Seeker Bridging Visa or a Temporary Protection Visa (TPV).

Requirements for UTS Humanitarian Scholarship

1. Have temporary asylum seeker or refugee residence status and hold a Bridging Visa E or A (and have made an application for a Protection Visa), or Temporary Protection Visa (subclass 785), or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790), or Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (subclass 786) and

2. Be able to demonstrate that they do not have the financial means to support payment of their tuition fees without receiving the Scholarship; and

3. Have applied and been deemed eligible for admission to a UTS undergraduate degree or UTS postgraduate degree; and

Undergraduate Applicants:

1. Have not commenced or completed any other undergraduate degree in Australia; and

2. Apply and commence at UTS in the next available intake for the course after completion of their study used as their basis of admission; and

3. Be intending to enroll full-time; and

4. All candidates must apply and complete the UTS online Scholarships Application; and

5. All candidates must be available to attend an interview, if required.
