Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship 2022 Application Update

Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the University of Technology Sydney.

About the Scholarship

The Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship was created to entice highly accomplished, underprivileged high school students to pursue undergraduate degrees at UTS.

In Sydney, Australia, there is a public institution called the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Although the university’s roots may be in the 1870s, it was not created in its current form until 1988. It is a member of the university-based Australian Technology Network.

Full Funding, $12,500 per year.

Requirements for Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship

1. Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and

2. Current school leaver; or gap year student who graduated in the previous year, where no tertiary study was undertaken in the gap year; and

3. Have received an offer through UAC for a UTS undergraduate degree; and

4. Intended full-time enrolment in a UTS undergraduate degree, which is their first undergraduate degree; and

5. Academic excellence in the final year of high school (ATAR of 90.0 or above, excluding bonus points); and

6. Have applied for and/or been assessed under the Equity Scholarship or Educational Access Scheme via UAC, and therein demonstrated financial disadvantage (at the time of Scholarship selection). Please see other information for more details.

Selection Process

1. Financial disadvantage that has been proven (via the application and/or evaluation processes for the UAC Equity Scholarship or Educational Access Scheme).

2. Academic achievement at the year 12 level, ranked by ATAR but without bonus points.

3. At the time of selection, the first UAC choice to a UTS undergraduate study will be highly valued.

4. Candidates who have applied using the UTS they will highly regard online Elite School Leavers Scholarships Application form.

5. Motivation to succeed in the chosen degree program, as demonstrated in the Scholarship application or as determined by UTS

6. Initiative in personal and professional life, as demonstrated in the Scholarship application or as determined by UTS.
