Following the release of the 2021 WAEC May/June result statistics, the Head of National Office, WAEC, said candidates can check their results online on the council’s website with immediate effect.
Candidates that took part in the 2021 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) May/June WASSCE can now check their results.
You don’t need to purchase any scratch card to check your result. They contain the result checker PIN and Serial Number on the flip side of the candidates’ CIVAMPENS Card, issued to all candidates by WAEC.

Brief Details About WAEC and WASSCE
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is an established by law in 1952 to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries.
It also conducts the examinations and awards certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally. The council has contributed to education in the Anglophobic countries of West Africa.
The board also formed an endowment fund to contribute to education in West Africa through lectures and aid to those who cannot afford education.

About WASSCE
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, is a type of a standardized test in West Africa. Students who pass the exam receive a certificate confirming their graduation from secondary education.
It is administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and only offered to candidates living in Anglophone West African countries.
The academic school-leaving qualification awarded upon successful completion of the exams is the West African Senior School Certificate.
How to Use WAEC Result Checker
1. Go to WAEC result checking official portal at
2. Enter your centre number and seat number in the required space. Your registration should look like this: 4310963***.
3. Select the year you sat for the exam, i.e. 2021.
4. Select your examination type, i.e. SCHOOL CANDIDATE RESULT.
5. Finally, enter your scratch card pin and serial number in the required space and then click submit to view your result.
To receive your WAEC result via SMS, follow the procedure outlined below:

1. What is WAECDIRECT Pin use for?
Ans = WAEC uses this special pin to identify each student. It is a unique 10-digit or 12-digit number that is required to access the service. The PIN is found on a valid WAECDIRECT Scratch card.
2. What is a WAEC scratch card?
Ans = This is made of plastic and comes in various types. On the reverse side of the card, scratch the concealed part to reveal the pin needed to access the WAECDIRECT service.
3. Where can I buy the WAECDIRECT scratch card?
Ans = About 17 banks in Nigeria sell WAECDIRECT scratch cards. You can also visit WAEC national office or Zone offices nationwide. Some cyber café are also allowed to sell.
