Wellcome Trust Research Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by KEMRI Wellcome Trust.
About the Scholarship
The KEMRI|Wellcome Trust Research Program is a world renowned health research unit of excellence. The program was formed in 1989 when the Kenya Medical Research Institute formed a partnership with the Wellcome Trust and the University of Oxford.
The Program has over the last 26 years grown from a small group of 12 to a state-of-the-art facility hosting over 100 research scientists and 700 support staff working across Kenya, Uganda and the region.
We have over the years excelled in use of novel ideas working with local community to achieve better health for Africa while also developing African scientific leaders.

Requirements for PhD Research Scholarship
Applicants must have attained at least an upper 2nd class degree or its equivalent in Nutrition &/or Biochemistry and a masters’ degree in Public health, Nutrition or a related field. Successful candidates should also demonstrate strong experience in laboratory sample analysis.
For undergraduate degrees that are not classified, ensure your average score through the four/three years is above 60 (GPA above 3.3). Provide a certified proof of the same from your University.
