WHAT WAS CAIAPHAS REACTION TO RELIGEOUS ACTIONS OF JESUS?

Caiaphas decided that Jesus should be stopped by all means necessary.  He called a meeting of the chief priests and the scribes (lawyers) in his palace where  he told them that Jesus had to be killed.

At Caiaphas decision, the house was thrown into pandemonium as some reasoned that if Jesus is killed their might be riots as it will ignite the crowd.  But Caiaphas got his decisions and put it into effect immediately.

He sent a great multitude of soldiers with swords, and in the exert words of Matthew section 26 (47) and I quote  “…and with him came a great multitude of soldiers with swords from  the chief priest  (caiaphas ) and the elders of the people”.

When they finally arrested Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane at  night and he was put on trial before the  high court.

According to (57), it provides that  “and they that had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest where the scribes and the elders were assembled”.

Jesus was actually a trouble to caiaphas, He  (Jesus) was charged as a rebel, endangering public peace and it was reasonable to arrest Him (Jesus) when the crowd were thronging the city.
