Yousef was born on April 14, 1992, in Nasarawa state. His mother is Arabian while his dad is Nigerian.
Yousef is currently 29 years of age. He is the last born in a family of five – three boys and two girls. Yousef’s two sisters are twins and they are both married.
Yousef big brother Naija has spent most of his life in the Northern part of Nigeria where he grew up.
He attended Demonstration Secondary School after which he proceeded to the University of Jos, Plateau State, to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering. BBNaija Yousef graduated from UNIJOS with a second-class lower degree in 2017.

Yousef started his career as a model during his days at the university.
He won the Mr. UNIJOS Beauty Pageantry in 2015 and was crowned Jos King in 2018. Yousef has stated that the wins were proud moments of his life.
After graduating from the University, Yousef started his internship in November 2018 as a Basic Technology teacher at Prestige International School, Jos, taking the Junior Secondary School students (JSS Class).
Yousef was still a teacher at Prestige International School before he was selected to join the 2021 BBNaija Season 6 reality TV show.

Yousef has revealed during his introduction in the house that he is in an open relationship.
Nevertheless, the housemate made it known on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, during a discussion with fellow housemate, Arin, that he is on a soul-mate searching mission since he knows that his current girlfriend of over a year is not his true soul mate.
Yousef said:
“I just like to try my options, don’t like to take it as far as being committed. I don’t want to take it that far and I wouldn’t mind if I met my soulmate. I’ll just go with the flow if it comes because I want to marry young; as young as possible.”
Arin furthered ask Yousef if he would entertain an open marriage, but he answered negatively explaining that he is a jealous person.
